Founded in 1909, Vrana Civil has grown from a local builder into a recognized leader in heavy civil and transportation construction. Our longevity is built on trusted relationships, repeat clients, and consistent performance. We honor our history while embracing modern construction practices that improve efficiency, safety, and project outcomes. Formerly Vrana Construction, Vrana Civil and Vrana General Contractors made the transition into two specialized companies in 2025. This transition allows each company to focus more deeply on what they do best while continuing the same commitment to service you expect.

Throughout his career, Troy has remained committed to the growth of both the company and its people. In addition to the various community boards, industry efforts, and associations he has supported over time, he also serves as a Director for Enterprise Bank.
Troy believes the organization’s greatest asset is its employees. Through ongoing training and education, leadership development, and a focus on continuous improvement, Vrana Civil encourages each employee’s individual growth and empowers teams to meet clients’ highest expectations.
As CEO, Troy remains actively involved in the strategic direction of the company while continuing to mentor and support the next generation of leadership at Vrana Civil. He remains committed to building upon the values, relationships, and reputation that have defined the company’s identity for generations.

After earning his undergraduate and MBA degrees from Southern Methodist University, Grant spent nearly a decade working in consulting and operational leadership roles for a global technology organization before returning to Omaha to help lead the next generation of Vrana Civil. He also completed graduate-level studies in Construction Management through the University of Nebraska.
Grant is especially passionate about developing strong field leaders and preparing the next generation of superintendents and project managers. In addition to his work at Vrana Civil, he has spent the past four years teaching a University of Nebraska course focused on the heavy civil construction industry. He believes successful companies are built by people who understand the work, take ownership, and lead by example—values that closely align with Vrana Civil’s “hire and retire” philosophy.
With a strong focus on accountability, communication, and continuous improvement, Grant works closely with clients, project teams, and employees to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. He is committed to building upon the values, relationships, and reputation that have defined the company’s identity for generations.
Safety Management Philosophy
Vrana Civil is committed to its safety program. Our highly successful SafeSite program is implemented to meet all project’s safety challenges. The quality guidelines and lessons learned databases will be effectively incorporated into the construction process. The key to any successful endeavor is rooted in proper planning. The SafeSite program is rooted on the following principles: Plan, Train, Monitor & Improve.
Plan
By pre-planning daily work activities, our employees research safety guidelines to ensure that work will be performed in the correct manner, and the correct safety equipment will be on hand at the start of the task.
Train
Training crew members in proper safety gear usage and work guidelines.
Monitor
Monitoring our workplace for safety lapses. If a lapse is found, immediate corrective action will be taken.
Improve
Formal reviews of past tasks will ensure continuous improvement in safety means and methods.
By empowering our workers to participate in safety planning, training, monitoring and improvement, we protect our greatest assets while building a stronger and more productive workforce.
